Philippine Airlines and International media
In spite of achieving several milestones, Philippine Airlines has endured major setbacks that have impeded their continuous success. From the 1960’s until the early 1990’s, PAL was reported to be operating at a loss. The company was plagued by numerous controversies including corrupt management, poor policies, and loose accounting methods. International media at that time mostly blamed the few wealthy political families in the country that tried to “milk” the airline instead of cleaning the corrupt system.
